For various reasons I always end up getting my children appointments for teeth checking and cleaning at the end of December. Some of the reasons are;
- Its a time of year all the family get together
- I pay
- There is a general feeling of happiness and goodwill about somy children are more likely to comply and please me
- Holidays from University
This particular year it was Christmas Eve for our family (although Christmas is not generally celebrated where we live). The only appointments I could get where they could all swap back and forth between Dentist and Teeth cleaner was December 24 th early in the morning! I tried the approach of get it all over with together and you will not have to go back if we do it all at once etc etc.... but was falling on deaf ears.
As we sat in the waiting area they were all slumped about over chairs and I felt terrible.
Suddenly a dental assistant I had chatted with over the years appeared and came to me saying she had noticed the family name on the register and knew we celebrated Christmas so she had brought me a gift! Two beautiful hand painted Russian dolls for our Christmas tree and a Calendar for the next year of St Petersburg. I was totally surprised ......it made my day. Those sulking children could sulk all they wanted, if we hadn't come on Christmas Eve, I wouldn't have been blessed by my friend at the Dentist.
This year we have multi appointments for 1/1/2015 a good way to start the New Year don't you think?
Result: You can always be surprised in the most unusual unexpected places.
