Election time in Israel is coming up (AGAIN)! The bombarding has started-statistics, charts, primaries, polls, news programmes, debates, discussions, guessing, bribing and so on and so forth and this is before we even start at the traffic junctions with stickers, slogans and plastic posters.
What a waste of money!
I am bored with it already. I am not allowed to vote and even if I was, for me in my position it will not make much difference who is in power, it will not be to my advantage.
So what am I to do? Apart from the obvious praying, I could throw in a bit of fasting for good measure? It could be said I don't have much faith in great political change here, change that will result in a better life for me and my family.
Perhaps I should take the advice I was fed and raised on by my parents and my faithful Granny. "Press on Regardless" (ignore your circumstances), "Stiff upper lip" (no snivelling), "Keep Calm and Carry On" (do not be distracted from your goal), "Never Ever Surrender" (do not give up).
I am a Philippians 3:8,12,14 fan. Pressing on towards the goal. Be willing to die for it (but hope it does not come to that).
I finish with Philippians 4:8, 'Finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.' This is what I will do whilst it all storms around me .
One foot in front of the other, doing the 'daily deal.' As Oswald Chambers says, 'the test is in the small things, the drudgery, the ordinary, the unobserved and ignored things'.
So I will Press on Regardless , Never Giving Up, Without Snivelling , Carrying on Whilst Keeping Calm as best as I can.
Anybody else feel the same?
