If I Were Mayor of Jerusalem

If I Were Mayor of Jerusalem

If I Were Mayor of Jerusalem….

  1. I wouldn’t give permission to Palestinians from the West Bank to come into Israel only when the economy is down and we need people in the malls shopping…I would grant permission for Palestinians to drive their own cars in Jerusalem; I would ensure that Waze worked in Arabic and signage was in 3 languages, and I would invest in 20 or so Arabic speaking traffic officers who could direct people where they want to go.

  2. I would upgrade all offices that Arabic-speaking citizens use in the city and ensure they process paperwork as necessary and in a timely fashion.  I would offer evaluation forms to those who use the facilities, and then grant my budget according to the most improved offices.

  3. I would encourage Orthodox Jews to do their community service on the Mount of Olives and at all offices that serve Arabic speakers in the city.

  4. I would ensure that ALL citizens are held accountable to ALL laws at the same level.  Orthodox Jews who throw stones on Shabbat and Yom Kippur will have the same detention as Palestinians who throw stones.

  5. No one under 18 will be held without parental supervision.

  6. No one over 18 will be held more than 24 hours without due process and before being assigned a representative.

  7. I would pay for local neighborhood elections to ensure there is someone to speak to when there is a need.  I would ensure that there is a general meeting with those representatives once a month.

  8. I would insist that all religions sit on a council, along with the King of Jordan (if he will agree) to manage the Holy Sites in all of Jerusalem and the West Bank.

  9. I would NOT carry a gun.

  10. I would visit a minority school once a week.

Vote for me!

Alice for Mayor!
