Description: I am a Palestinian woman who has lived several places in such little time. I have a very strong tie to my Palestinian roots, but I also feel close to Western culture. On the outside I am sweet and social, but can be a little stubborn (like the candy on the tootsie pop). However, the deeper you get to know me, the more vulnerable I become (like the gooey stuff in the middle). Also, I picked that name because: I JUST LOVE CANDY!  {And basically anything with SUGAR - especially homemade desserts!} Which I will hopefully share a few recipes of on the blog :)

Why are you involved in this blog?
There are several reasons why I want to be part of this blog. The first reason is that it was an honor for me to be asked to join this team; I couldn't say no! I have known some of the women on the team for years, and I have gained so much respect for them in the way they lead their lives. Additionally, I want this blog to be an inspiration and a dose of optimism for the readers. On a daily basis, we read stories of violence, hatred and discrimination among two people; however, I am certain that if we look hard enough, we can find good human stories that happen every single day. So I want to challenge myself to shy away from the complaining, (because trust me, that is so easy to do!) and instead share one good thing that has happened to me, or that I have heard of happening, that reflects a different view of this conflict.
